Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor has it been before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word format and adheres to the style requirements set out in the JCPR Author Guidelines and Editorial Policies Guidelines.
  • Where available, URLs and DOIs for the references have been provided.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the JCPR Author and Editorial Policies Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Types of Evidence-Based and Scientific Research

The JCPR is committed to publishing high-quality research to improve psychosocial health and well-being. We accept basic and applied research of the following types: qualitative, Quantitative, Mixed-method, Review studies, Book reviews, and Opinion papers.

Submissions

The JCPR allows all authors to submit free-format manuscripts

All submissions can be submitted online or sent to JCPR@nwu.ac.za.

The following formatting requirements, as set out below, must be adhered to.

Two separate manuscripts must be submitted:

  1. Full manuscript.
  2. Blinded manuscript (all identifiable information be removed).

Opinion Papers and Book Reviews

1500 words (excluding the reference list)

Article Processing Charges (APC)

The article processing charges with the JCPR after the final peer review and approval of the editorial board amount to $100.

The JCPR does not charge article submission fees, and authors will be notified after the manuscript is approved of the payment requirements.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal. They will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.

All stakeholders associated with the JCPR are committed to protecting authors' personal or identifiable information, as per the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 in the Republic of South Africa. The JCPR has implemented a strict data management policy that ensures that all personal and identifiable information is handled according to the principles of the Act.
